I went to Detroit once to see Mushroomhead. At the bus stop waiting to go home, there were two black guys waiting with my friend and I. They were wearing merch from the show. I was surprised, and blurted out, "you guys were at the show?" They said yes, and we started talking about music. On the bus, we were singing 80s songs (GTA: Vice City was big at the time), and one of the guys really hit that high note on Broken Wings. That night was an education for me. Music is for whoever the fuck wants it.
